To NAMPI Membership – HELP WANTED

by Joan Senatore, NAMPI Secretary
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” -Aristotle
As I was googling members and associations looking for ideas for a newsletter article, I came across a
blog 1 that used the above Aristotle quote which intrigued me and wanted to share it with you. The blog
further stated, “if we replace “parts” with “membership” and “whole” with “association”, it reminds us
that the collective power of an association is based on the individual power of each of its members.”
NAMPI’s success is contingent upon the participation of our members. We rely on the membership to
present at the annual conference and to share topics for webinars or speakers. As you know, the NAMPI
Board represents each voice of its members.
There are many ways you can get involved. Volunteer to take on a more active role with NAMPI, by
joining one of the committees: education, website, and bylaws. The continued success and growth of
NAMPI is dependent on each of its members. It is your association, and we need everyone to get
involved, either by encouraging attendance at the conference or by joining a committee or by running
for office or by presenting at a training session or by recommending speakers or topics.
As the NAMPI Board starts planning for the upcoming conference, we would like to hear from you. The
Board reviews the evaluations from the previous conference and uses the feedback provided as a
starting point in planning for next year’s conference. If you have any ideas for a topic or speaker for the
keynote session, please let us know or pass it on to your regional representative.
On behalf of the NAMPI Board, I would like to thank You! I have been an active member of NAMPI for
over 25 years and have watched NAMPI grow and flourish to become the association we are today. It is
all due to the fact that NAMPI ‘s success is the result of each member’s voice.
