I am interested in locating someone with experience in filing Form 1098-F. It appears that the form is to be used to report fines/penalties/payments assessed by state agencies against third parties.

It is my understanding that the reporting requirements of IRC section 6050X “apply only to orders and agreements, pursuant to suits and agreements, which become binding under applicable law on or after January 1, 2022, determined without regard to whether all appeals have been exhausted or the time for filing an appeal has expired.”
